by fisherman91 on Sep. 16, 2016
You could stay in Nipawin and fish the river or the shore bird at Tobin had rooms to stay in.

by 1walleye on Sep. 15, 2016
Where is a good place to stay and fish in October I see nipawin is a half hr from Tobin lake and don't really want to do all of that driving each day

by Kevin p on Sep. 14, 2016
How muddy is the water out that way? Out west it's brutal muddy still and the fish won't bite. Hope Tobin is doing better

by zrjoe on Aug. 22, 2016
Had another fantastic weekend. But, does anyone know if zebra mussels are now in the system? I caught a few strange looking little shelled clams. I should have kept them for study.

by Gully/Landen on Aug. 21, 2016
Cool, I caught my personal best yesterday on my last day. 15lbs and 40"+ inches. It was released. Pike, and walleye caught around a 4 pounder.

Yesterday caught a 24 lbs it was 46 1/2 in. Length and a girth of 21 in.

by Gully/Landen on Aug. 11, 2016
Nice, heard there was good fishing there. I'm at fishing lake and caught a 12pounder. Thought that was amazing there, mostly 5lbs. :) Is catching like that good for that lake? Never been there and I've been thinking about going there for a while. Any Walleyes?

by Doitt on Aug. 11, 2016

by schmid on Aug. 7, 2016
P.S that should be all lakes in sask 😎

by schmid on Aug. 7, 2016
I fully agree with your comment but I suggest they drop limit for walleye to two fish none over 20cm and perch limit to 15 fish👍

by zrjoe on Aug. 2, 2016
Nice weekend with some nice fish. I would support a complete catch and release on this body of water. There is too much pressure to sustain the fishery.

by kcpland1 on Jun. 23, 2016
Thanks gerrycan!

by gerrycan on Jun. 23, 2016
Excellent walleye action all week. Slow trolled lindy's in 17-40' of water. Averaged 5-6lb. A few in the 7-10lb range.

by kcpland1 on Jun. 22, 2016
Going to Nipawin this weekend for 5 days. Walleyes still biting in the river? What technique works best this time of year?

by Stefan24 on Jun. 9, 2016
Fishing has been incredible, caught over 40 walleye and they included 4 over 10 pounds and none under 3. Caught in open water, secret spot, in just 8 feet of water. Caught with lures, no bait. Can catch Pike almost without effort. Len Thompson hooks. Mostly green with black spots. Pelican lures are working best for me. Amazing, why would anyone go anywhere else?

by ripp1 on Jun. 8, 2016
Has anyone been out on the river? How's the fishing so far this year?

by Dovef on May. 31, 2016

by zrjoe on Oct. 23, 2015
Not saying we did not catch. I was amazed at the amount of boats and how many were kept. I am unsure the lake can sustain that pressure.

If you cant catch fish at tobin. Its you not the lake

by zrjoe on Oct. 13, 2015

by Soulvandal on Jun. 17, 2014
Sounds like there is a lot of flood warnings for southern Alberta. If this is the case then the lake is going to be ruined for awhile much like last year. Fingers crossed that it doesn't happen.

by Axle4803 on Jun. 14, 2014
Anyone catching at tobin this weekend. Been very slow for us

by Jonny on Jun. 14, 2014

by Spooch on Jun. 8, 2014
Just fished for 4 days. Caught hundreds of walleye. None over 10lbs :( but lots of big fish, slaughtered the pike probably 20 fish an hour but the biggest was only 8lbs. Boat smells like a rotten jackfish so much slime in it.

by Tack on Jun. 5, 2014
Just got home from Pruden's Point. Fishing for eye's was awesome. A big shout out to Chuck from Pruden's Point. Stayed at his resort and would recommend it. Went way out of his way for us. Great guy and really nice place.

by Soulvandal on Jun. 3, 2014
To try and help answer some questions. Burton - you can launch at the regional park in nipawin if you want to fish the river. Main lake I'd go to the resort as the highway to prudens is currently washed out. Fishmaster - we caught 3 sturgeon middle if August last year, same day. As on today the dam is still open. The river is dirty and fast current. Went from the park all the way to gingaras on the weekend. It was still pretty dirty at that point. Hope it clears up soon.

by DrFishMaster on Jun. 1, 2014
to Tobin fishmasters lol. just wonder if anyone has any tips on when to go for sturgeon in Sask river. after the current dies down or do I have to wait now till sept/oct. i need my river monster this year. Fraser River is next year so need some practice...

Hello everyone, heading to tobin on the 7th, this will be my first time fishing the lake and I was curious as to where's a good place to launch the boat and a good starting point to get on some fish? Thanks!

by Spooch on May. 30, 2014
Talked to the resort. Dam is being shut off on Monday and water level is stable and will remain stable. Water is crystal clear on lake an lots of big fish coming out.

by WalleyeOughta on May. 29, 2014
Appreciate the feedback soulvandel

by Soulvandal on May. 28, 2014
The river is slow. It's dirty, high and lots of current. Have heard the lake is pretty decent right now. I can't offer any advice on where the bite is, etc. The lake appears to be ice free however.

by fishcooker on May. 27, 2014
just wondering what to expect on the lake, going to be there on sunday 6-1, big fish, hot spots, ice ?. any one been on the lake ?

by WalleyeOughta on May. 27, 2014
I'm heading up to Nipawin to fish the river or big lake depending on where the bite is. Any suggestions on where the fish are biting on an average year in early June? Not sure about this year since its an off spring....

by Spooch on May. 26, 2014
On the hot spots one guy says caught a 42lbs pike on the one location. I would love to see a pic of that fish. Very possible, but can't believe it till I see it. Something smells fishy

by Sam on May. 22, 2014
Is there still ice on the main lake.

by Soulvandal on May. 20, 2014
Out at Tobin today. No ice at all on small/river portion of the lake. Seen a couple boats out. Unsure about the flats. No reports on fish being caught however.

by Rws on Mar. 3, 2014
For road to flats...is that just pike, or can u drive with truck to walleye spot there as well? Thanks

by Furny on Feb. 28, 2014
Hey heading out mar 12-14 and wanna know does a guy need a sled for the flats?? Also wanna know if the walleye have been biting? Where at?? Tired of getting skunked! Any help would be awesome

by Pike N Crossbonez on Feb. 20, 2014
Walleye are starting to slow down a bit, so are the perch. The big pike are starting to stage in the flats but they are only hitting later in the day. Slowing down your presentation helps a bit for all the above species. If your using anything shiny, its tough keeping the tullibees off your hook. Good luck out there.

by TLR Outfitting on Feb. 20, 2014
There are access points all along road no shacks were made impossible to get to. Will be out Today and will make more access points for every one with shacks. Don't mean to upset anyone. Will also plow out some strips for people that don't have shacks or snowmobiles for better access for them . Good Luck and Good fishing As for a Fishing Report it is Excellent

by fishhunter on Feb. 16, 2014
ice road clearing is pain in ass for anyone that is off trail but thanks for the large snow traps making getting to several shacks impossible!!!

Well nobody got back to me about pike. I went it was awesome caught lots of fish about 20 a day the biggest was 44" also got 2 others over 40. There was plenty over ten pounds. The 10" storm Kicken minnow was the best in white or fire tigger. I have seen better at tobin but water temp was high the first day about 70 deg fer and dropped to 66 before we left.

by Marble_eyes on Sep. 15, 2013
How's the fishing along grassy and the cabin pass.

by Cooltean on Sep. 9, 2013

by Marble_eyes on Sep. 8, 2013
We were there after the long weekend Tuesday we had zero bites drifted on river for walleye. Tossed plugs spinnerbaits and cranks. The following day we had amazing luck at grassy Island for huge walleye. Worms on lindy rig

by Night Hawk on Sep. 7, 2013

by BB73 on Sep. 2, 2013

by BB73 on Sep. 2, 2013
Yep but don't be scared to try worms and hook them in the middle so they form a "U" shape,

by Marble_eyes on Sep. 1, 2013

by Marble_eyes on Aug. 28, 2013

by Fulvescens on Aug. 8, 2013
Fishing has been good. Decent pike on the main lake with our biggest being 17.75lbs. LOTS of walleye off the point at TLR although most are small. Bring louts of minnows. Heard a couple eyes over 11 were caught yesterday at the hump.

by Travman on Aug. 8, 2013
I am coming up to Pruden's Point on Tobin Lake this weekend......what's the fishing been like? I am more interested in catching lots, (my kids want to catch a fish)....if they are small we let them go, if they are OK size we will eat them. But its more important to my kids to just get a chance to reel one in.

by Webs17 on Jul. 31, 2013
How's the fishing on the river this week?

by iFish Guest on Jul. 16, 2013
Fishing very slow. One jack 17lbs. Only one. Some walleye about a pound or so. Water is starting to clear up a little bit. Locals say they are catching in 16 ft. But not big.

by Gman on Jul. 16, 2013
I was thinking about going up to tobin lake over the september long, but don't have a boat, I was planning to rent one for a day but can you fish from shore for walleye or do you need a boat??

by iFish Guest on Jul. 15, 2013
July 5. Caught a 42 inch 17.5 pound jack and July 15 / 16 caught over 80 walkeye. Welcome back tobin lake !

by terry lesiuk on Jul. 3, 2013
fishing is slow from mb I will try again next year to much water I think fishing next year would be better

by Spooch on Jul. 3, 2013
My advice, forfeit your cabin or campsite deposit and go fishing to a lake where a river doesn't run through it ? Tobin is toast for a long time!!!

by Bkreuz29 on Jul. 2, 2013
Lake was slow July long. Tons of trash in the water. It dropped and came up 4-6 ft in 36 hours. Fishing real slow, mostly pike. River is like pea soup. Big lake wasnt bad, but can't imagine it will be good when all the trash reaches there by this week.

by Foletrain on Jul. 1, 2013
We are booked in on July 9 th what's everyone's thoughts ?? Good fishing or not ?? Water to high and muddy??

by mike on Jun. 30, 2013

by Spooch on Jun. 27, 2013
Water level so low be extremely cautious of logs. There sticking up everywhere now.

by Spooch on Jun. 27, 2013
They've dropped the water level huge, was unable to launch our 19ft boat, when the flood water comes the lake will be like chocolate milk and will take a month or more to clear up, It will be unfishable soon. Ye be warned!!!

by Jackdaniel on Jun. 27, 2013
Hey, I was just wondering if anyone knows if the flooding from The west has affected fishing at all. Headed there this weekend. Any productive spots?

by M on Jun. 24, 2013
The fishing was perfect. No complaints there. If you are renting a boat or cabin make sure you get all pricing in writing up front. They have a new tax there. It is the YPM tax. You pay more. Some of the people working there have a three second memory like the fish.

by Webs17 on Jun. 23, 2013
How's the fishin on the river? I'm headed up there this week wondered where to go?

by Spooch on Jun. 22, 2013

by Big Wally on Mar. 4, 2013
We were out there this past weekend. Fishing was ok. Lots of spots where there is water under the snow. Some areas have knee deep snow out on the flats.

by Rugae on Feb. 26, 2013
Gingaras should be accessible by truck

by Grant on Feb. 21, 2013
Anyone catching any decent size walleye. If so where at?

by WalleyeGuy on Feb. 20, 2013
Is gingaras accessible by truck? Or is a sled necessary?

by RugaeP on Feb. 17, 2013
Added hotspot marker for gingara's. Fishing there is slow for walleye. Was out 15th slow. Slow again today for a friend (2 eyes). Watch for flood water. Flats is accesible only by sleds from what i hear. Friends catching some nice pike 45in plus. Good Luck!

by Rugae Purkinje on Feb. 17, 2013
Road down to gingara's. Follow the road down to a T from the highway. Turn left at the T and you have to take the sled trail down

by Rugae on Sep. 20, 2012
NoDak- fishing will be avg when you get there. I would try cranking up by the dam at night if you are familiar with the system. Lindy rigging and crankin throughout the day with leeches on the river. The big fish will start biting once water temps drop below 55F. Hope this helps.

by NoDakguy on Sep. 18, 2012
Going up for the first time this weekend how's the bite? and what are they bitting on? I appreciate any feedback thanks guys!!

by Spooch on Jun. 25, 2012
Pike are shedding teeth so they make ya work to catch them. Walleye are unreal, caught easily 200 walleye in 6hrs. Never seen walleye bite like this before in my life 20-30 seconds apart, one after another on leeches lots of small ones limited out, on nice eaters and caught about 6 slot size 1- 8 1/2 pounder. Best walleye fishing ever
