Sask Angler - Thanks and if you have some tips for safe travels around that Lake I'd love to hear them. Caught some real nice lakers there this fall. But again had to be careful as it goes from 20 ft to 3ft very quickly in quite a few areas we were in. And again the odd large tree sticking up out of fairly deep water. Friend of mine with a cabin there for 20 some years said he has creamed submerged trees out in open areas. We were on the West side mostly.

Fishininthedark- I noticed you made the same report a few years ago. Which part of the lake are you finding trouble on? Of course care should always be taken when boating in unknown waters, but other than a couple of obvious areas around points/islands in the west end of the lake, boats with fairly deep drafts navigate La Plonge regularly.

lac la plonge has submerged boulders, large logs sticking up at angles from bottom and is just all around dangerous for anybody thinking they can just put the hammer down on the wide open areas.

Tried lake trout fishing from July 17 to 18 without success. You really need down rig for plus 60' deep lake. Shall come in June.

Fishing the lake four full days. Seen lots on camera but not interested only caught three one nine pounder. Won't travel nine hours again not good fishing. They were netting on lake also not sure if that had something to do with dlow fishing.

well here what dr. phil says, " if you want to predict someone's future just look at there past ', fisherman are the worse, fishing the same lakes, with the same stuff, at the same time and of course are always successful, so I decided to go to a Saskatchewan lake that we have never fished, we are from alberta, and we are both looking forward to the challenge, we will post all of the successes, or maybe all the set backs, we will post the usual, on deep, what on, how fast, and all the other good, stuff, we will first warm up at keeley lake and than over to lac la plonge .... cheers doyle .....
